In this valuable award’s elaboration, it was stressed that the My Place Under the Sun program and campaign cast public light on the issues of child poverty and social inequality, problems that demand systemic work and everyone’s involvement, rather than merely social aid facilities.
In the name of the My Place Under the Sun campaign, the award was accepted by Sandra Grozdanov and Nikolina Matić.
Sandra Grozdanov used this opportunity to underline that this award binds them to continue doing everything they had, in the campaign, done before. The campaign was successful: we managed to collect the required means, about which we will soon inform the public. Numerous individuals and organizations do diligent and relentless work, but whose labor remains invisible. We have had the fortune of our work becoming visible and thus acknowledged. I dedicate this award to those quiet, diligent organizations and individuals, Grozdanov said.
The allocation of the Krunoslav Sukić award for Promoting Peace, Nonviolence, and Human Rights began in 2009 in the memory of Krunoslav Sukić, a pacifist and the founder of the Center for Peace, Nonviolence, and Human Rights.
